Ghost Studio Privacy Policy

Ghost Studio is a voice remote for the coding agent on your own laptop. This policy covers the Ghost Studio phone app on ghoststudio.app, the Ghost Studio Mac app, the native iPhone app, and this website. The phone web app and the native iPhone app handle speech and connections differently.
The phone app on ghoststudio.app (account QR)
- Voice. Browser speech recognition turns your speech into text; depending on your browser it may use the vendor's speech service. Audio is not sent to Ghost Studio — only the resulting text.
- Instructions and results. When you scan the QR on your account page, your phone and the Ghost Studio Mac app linked to the same account exchange tasks through ghoststudio.app over HTTPS. The text of each instruction and the agent's reply is stored with your account so your Mac can pick it up and your phone can show the result. This relay is not end-to-end encrypted.
- Devices. Each phone and Mac gets its own access token; we store only a hash of it, plus a label and when it was last seen. Disconnect all devices on your account page to revoke them.
What the native iPhone app does with your data
- Voice. Speech is transcribed on your iPhone using Apple's on-device speech recognition. Audio is never uploaded to us or anyone else.
- Instructions and results. The text of your instructions and the agent's replies go only between your iPhone and the Mac you paired with, encrypted end to end. When the two aren't on the same network, encrypted messages pass through a relay on your own Mac's companion connection, and that relay can't read them.
- On-device settings. Your chosen model, pause length and pairing keys are stored on your devices only.
- Camera. Used only to scan the pairing QR code shown on your Mac. No images are saved or sent.
- Local network. Used only to find and connect to the Mac you approved.
The native apps contain no analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. Verifying your subscription never requires your code or audio. Task instructions and results reach the website only when you use the account-QR phone app described above. Your chosen coding and speech providers process the data you send them under their own policies.
Your Mac and your coding agent
Tasks run with the coding agent and AI provider you configured on your Mac, under that provider's own terms and privacy policy. Ghost Studio doesn't change what that agent can access.
This website and subscriptions
If you create an account or subscribe, we store your email address and subscription status, plus the linked devices and task history described above if you use the account-QR phone app. Payments are processed by Stripe, and card details never reach our servers. Early-access requests store what you submit in the form.
Your choices
Use Disconnect all on your account page to revoke every linked phone and Mac; use Stop session in the Mac app for native iPhone pairing. Removing the Home Screen app (Settings → General → VPN & Device Management) does not revoke its access on its own — use Disconnect all as well. You can manage your subscription from your account page.
Children
Ghost Studio is a voice-driven productivity tool and is not directed at children under 13.
